    Great

Easy to print, piece together and follow for cutting. Looking forward to making and am happy to share when I get some time to sit and create. Will share again when I have made.

    Fabulous pattern

Easy pattern to follow with lots of options. I used coating fabric teamed up with a teal silky lining. Round hooded option with two patch pockets. Fits perfectly. I love it.

    Gorgeous

I was so pleasantly surprised at how well my coat went together. Whilst I am confident sewing knit fabric, wovens are not my thing! The coat went together so well with clear, concise instructions even a beginner could follow.
I used an old woollen blanket with soft flannelette for the lining. I sent it to my sister who absolutely loved it!
Thank you for a great pattern.

    Love this pattern so much

I’ve made so many vests & coats for kids and I’ve finally made a beautiful pea coat for myself. I love the generous fit and the pixie hood.

    Amazing , well explained pattern

I could not get enough of this pattern. I am an adventurous beginner sewist and have always been wanting to make a coat for myself. I alway find store bought coats not fitting nicely for my pear shaped body. Either the coat is too big around the bust or tight around the bottom end, twig and tale managed to explain the instructions well to get the right fit for me. I managed to make 3 coats out of this pattern and bought two further patterns from twig and tale, boy they did not disappoint. Highly recommended

    Awesome coat!

Beginner sewer here and this coat was surprisingly super easy to make! The instructions were very easy to follow and it was enjoyable to sew. I'm usually a size 6-8 in jackets and the size 8 is perfect to fit layers underneath.

    Pixie pea coat

Admired this pattern for a long time. Easy instructions and a fun make. Suspect a few more vintage blankets are going to get transformed. Sooo cozy!

    Incorrect instructions

I always read the instructions thoroughly before starting any project. If you want a loop and button closure as illustrated pic #1 and #3 in the pattern gallery, (and as my photo), then sew the button strip to the coat fronts as a first step, and then AT THIS step, insert your loop closures (either left or right as desired) sandwiched in between the coat fron and button strip. This results in a nice firm centre line, with a solid foundation for the button attachment. As per current instructions, the loops are on the outer edge of the strip and the buttons end up attached somewhere on the coat body front, rendering the button strips superfluous, and resulting in an awkward drape and closure of the coat. Also, sewing the button strip first makes it much easier to match any patterns as you are not wrestling with an entire coat.
With the above changes, my coat, made from a pre loved travel rug turned out perfectly. I will make again.

    My new favourite coat!

I love this coat, the pattern was easy to follow and a joy to make. I used a wool blend coat fabric and double muslin as the lining. I did add more toggles as it was a little chilly when walking in the wind. It’s really comfy to wear and I have had so man compliments already. I’ll be making more in different colours. I would suggest that one checks the sizing carefully. I probably should have done one size bigger, so I can wear layers underneath if its really cold although I am really happy the way it turned out.

    So quick and easy!

I was honestly surprised by how easy the coat came together. I’ve never sewn a coat before so I was kind of intimidated before I got started. I fully expected to be frustrated at some point but each step was detailed so perfectly that I didn’t have any issues at all. I love it - It’s flattering without being form fitted. I can move freely and comfortably, I can raise my arms without the sleeves being too tight - which is great because keeping up with my toddler is a full time job and I don’t like to feel restricted in my clothes. I can say with 100% certainty that I will never buy a store bought jacket again. The pixie pea coat is my absolute favorite. I’m seriously in love. 💛
