Pixie Peacoat

This pattern was a pleasure to sew. I’ve made 2 for my grand children from wool blankets. Lined with leftover fat quarters which I joined in a higgilty piggilty patchwork . Hopefully the coats will fit for a couple of years as I left the arms Long and rolled up to grow into. I also put a zip in the boys jacket with buttons in the girls version. Very pleased with how they just effortlessly went together.
Instructions were very good and easy to follow

Satisfying make

If you think you can't do outerwear then I can assure you that with this pattern you can!
The coat is a simple shape that comes together easily. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Lovely points made along the way to get a good clean finish to your garment.
So don't be daunted , you too can do it .

Great pattern

Loved making a couple of these coats for twin sisters. Hacked the round hood to add fur trim and added a few inches to the length. Great and easy pattern to follow, having previously made a few adult Pea coats. X

This coat pattern is absolutely fantastic. It is relatively simple when compared to other Twig and Tale coat patterns but with a fantastic finish. It's super versatile and I think it would be the perfect canvas for hacking. I made a fall coat and quilted the outer fabric before cutting it. I've been wearing it non-stop and have gotten loads of compliments.

I enjoyed the learning process with excellent instructions.
So satisfying to have the confidence to use 'dog blankets' with some tar marks from our local opp shop.
Looking forward to trying the updated pattern lining now I know my sewing machine better xx

Loved sewing this coat x 2!!

I sewed two pixie peas for my 2 and 4 year old granddaughters. I made a size 3 and size 6 out of needlecord outer and lined with cotton, one with a pixie hood and one with a round hood, both with patch pockets. Really easy sew that went together super-quickly. I think the end result is really lovely and they look fab.
My only regret is not thinking the coat fastenings through in advance. I made loops out of the lining material and intended having toggles. I then realised that the toggles I had would pull on the fine needlecord if I sewed them on the front rather than the placket (which wouldn't have sat right). I then switched to buttons but I made the loops too big for the buttons so they don't stay together reliably . I wish I'd done proper buttons on the placket or a hidden zip ... maybe next time.
Lovely pattern ... just bought the women's updated version so I will have to make one for me next time! Thanks to T&T for another lovely pattern.

I will be using this pattern for years!

I loved this pattern and sewing winter coats for my girls. I used a prequilted cotton for the outside and flannel for the inside. They turned out perfect, adorable and warm! According to their measurements, I made the appropriate sizes, and they fit great. I think they will fit into the next winter season, also. I plan on using this pattern for years to come, and I am totally sold on using more t+t patterns for our wardrobes. Thanks!
