I enjoyed making this for a newborn and even though it was a bit fiddly because it was small, I had no trouble following the detailed instructions. My only problem was forgetting to add the ear warmers I had seen. Maybe reminding me to tack them to the flaps earlier in the instructions might have helped. I realise it’s difficult to cover all options in the instructions so this is not really a complaint at all.
It was a really easy pattern to follow and sew up, I just had a little trouble topstitching around to finish because I used a thick wool and a thick cotton knit for lining but I persisted and the outcome was fab so really glad I did that last step! It turned out so cute, I’ll be making more!!
I love this hat. It looks cool and it was an easier sew than I expected. They do run large though, so I’ll need to make more :-)
The aviator hat was fairly easy to sew. The instructions were clear and well-written. I absolutely adore this pattern and plan to make many more Aviator hats.
Excellent pattern, fun to sew, easy to follow instructions. Great for the whole family!
Made one for a baby, my son (17 years old) , and myself :)
