Twig +Tale Briar Doll + Clothing Collection Views

Experience required  Briar is suitable for someone who has used a sewing machine before.  Embroidery experience is not required and is fully explained.

Briar is not a whip-it-up-in-an-evening project, rather there are lots of elements which can be done in a spare fifteen minutes here and there - so she does come together nicely :)

Make old things new again! Twig & Tale patterns pair wonderfully with upcycled fabrics. Briar uses very little fabric so look to gorgeous vintage garments and trims and precious fabric scraps for inspiration.

    Supplies
    • 24” of 44” wide fabric (60cm of 115cm wide fabric) for her body. Flesh-coloured broadcloth, calico, linen or other plain cotton material works well.  This will be enough for two dolls, but you will need this amount in order to make one
    • Spool of coordinating thread
    • Upholstery-weight sewing thread in colours similar to her skin and her hair
    • 50-75g ball for her hair.
    • 4  small buttons - neutral colored for attaching limbs
    • Stuffing - I like to use clean, carded wool

    FAQ

Q:  What is the difference between Briar and Fleur?
A:  Briar and Fleur have identical bodies.  Briar was designed with simpler facial features and hair to make her easier for a beginner.  Each come with their own clothing bundles which are also different.

Q:  Can I purchase the clothing bundles separately so Fleur can wear Briar's outfits and vice versa?
A:  The clothing is interchangeable between the dolls, but at this time the clothing bundles are only available to purchase with the dolls.

    Lovely little lady

This is 'nearly' my first forray into doll making. The instructions are so well written & easy to follow. I would expect nothing less from T & T! When my niece wanted a doll who looks like her I immediately knew where to go for a pattern to make it easy for me to deliver on her request.

    I love my first doll!

So much love for this pattern. This was my very first doll making experience and I felt like I had a friend right here showing me how to make her. I am so delighted with how she turned out. Thankyou for your gentle, detailed instructions.

    Ready for adventure

A wonderful pattern that reminded me of the dolls my mom’s friends made in the 70s. This pattern did not disappoint. If you haven’t made many dolls (like me) just take your time. If you follow the instructions you’ll do fine.

    It’s Love!

Who would have thought my sewing journey which started 1 year ago with the arrival of our first grandchild would lead to this. I’m so happy with Fleur. Attention to detail is important with the dolls, but well worth it. I enjoyed the process of seeing her slowly come to life over the course of a week or so. T&T patterns have been my own private sewing school.

    So much fun!

First time ever I sewed a doll, but I had so much fun making it! The instructions are really detailed and easy to follow, even for a beginner like me and the doll turned out really nice. I made it as a birthday present for my little girl and she loves it!
