The simple magic of the Traveller Cape pattern is its simplicity; slip it on for warmth getting to and fro, and watch them transform into whomever their heart desires.

Before she takes the throne in a land of enchantment, before he sets off into the woods with his band of knights, they don a cape and stand tall, heads held high towards the clouds.

Easy to make and easy to wear, it indulges kids' fairytale-esque ways.  Everything from cloak length costumes, to an everyday alternative to a coat, this pattern does it all.

Nothing makes a child's imagination soar quite like a cape...

Cape with pixie hood

Wow how simple this pattern was to make. It was exactly the design I had imagined but Twig and Tale have the designs already made up. I enjoyed making this cape and was very happy with the simple instructions and ease of use.

Wonderful!

My daughter wanted a cape "like Little Red Riding Hood but green", and this pattern worked wonderfully. She loves it and loves the hidden little pockets. Now I just need to make myself a matching one! Extremely easy pattern to follow and very quick to make up.

Simple and cute

I brought this pattern as a confident beginner in sewing. I had made only a small number of children's clothes before along with little beginner projects like a lunch bag etc. but had never used such fabrics before (I used baby cordoruy and a scuba fabric)
I chose to make the cape reversible and it is for ages 1 to 3 years
The pattern was simple to cut out and match up.
The instructions were really easy to follow and weren't too lengthy or complicated.
Everything worked perfectly and I have since gone on to purchase other t and t patterns as a result.
The person who it is intended for is still only young and below the age I made it for so only a picture of my completed item on a mannequin
This pattern is easily adaptable, whether you want a hood or collar or whether you want it to be reversible or not. You can personalise it as much as you want without it then becoming complicated.
Truly over the moon with it. Go on and try it!

Gorgeous Pattern

Bought this to make for my eldest and it turned out beautiful. Used a nice wool for the outside and recycled a duvet to make the lining. Went for the longest length and it was perfect. The pattern and instructions were great.

Wonderful pattern

Always a pleasure to sew up a t+t pattern. The instructions are great, the pattern pieces came together easily and the finished item looks awesome!!

I used a woven for the lining and a stretch crushed velvet fabric on the outer. I was a little concerned that the velvet would stretch out over the shoulders so I interfaced along the shoulders and I also interfaced the hood to give it more structure.

Thanks again for a great pattern 🥰

This cape pattern is fantastic! I wanted to make something special for my little woodland sprite of a grandbaby, and this cape was perfect. It came together beautifully (I am an amateur seamstress) because the instructions are so clear. I love these patterns! I'm so ready to make all the things!
