Halloween Costume Complete

This pattern was a life-saver when my daughter decided last minute that she wanted to be a witch for Halloween. Instructions and pattern were not complicated. We actually made two cloaks—a longer cloak with a hood and a shorter cloak with a collar. She was layered up for trick-or-treating in the "great white north" with favorite bat fabric cloak displayed on top.

Classy and perfect

This is my newest fav T+T pattern. It’s simple, elegant and like all the T+T patterns, full of options. This cape is already a dragon, hobbit, Raven and just adorable outerwear for a human that hates jackets.

Very Pleased!

I am so happy with T+T patterns! I have made a few now, and the Traveller Cape is one I know I will make again and again... I love how simple the instructions are and how adventurous one can be with this and all their other patterns. Thanks T+T xo

Love it

Love the design of this cape, very easy to sew. Instructions are well written and easy to follow. Ive made a winter version but plan to make some in lighter weight versions to where with maxi dresses.

Just wonderful

I made this cape with some very precious wool cashmere fabric I have had for a number of years and been too scared to sew into anything in case I ruined it. It made up so easily and is just lovely. am now going to buy more fabric to make a longer one for my daughter for her birthday.

Gorgeous!

A lovely pattern with lots of options for lengths as well as collars and hoods. It was really easy to make and there were lots of clear instructions to help you make it perfectly. I have made one for myself but am already thinking of making several more, I just love it.

Gray cape wroth cheb lining

The instructions for download were clear. Have put all pieces together and have now cut out the cape in a gray wool and I am having a red and black tartan check as the lining. Still to sew it all together. All the instructions are clear to follow.

Intended Fit

Approximate size guide:  S/M up to size 14.  M/L from size 14 up to a size 24.
The M/L size might fit a larger lady, depending on bust size. In testing, the M/L cape fit beautifully on a size 26 model and a breastfeeding lady with a 60” chest.

Cape lengths

Shrug length is a sweet wee capelet, perfect for spring or over summer dresses in the evening. It's lovely over formal dresses too. There are options for a straight or curved inner edge.  This length is best made with the collar.
Classic length is the length shown on the cover photograph, with the Medium and Medium/Long being an additional 5cm and 10 cm longer respectively.
Cloak length is the longest length and is perfect for more coverage or for costume cloaks.

Suggested Fabrics / Notions

Exterior: I like to use wool blends, but most woven fabrics with a reasonable drape will work well, including fleece and windpro fleece. Lightweight cotton/linen can be used for a spring or summer cape. It can also be made in waterproof fabric as a rain cape.
Lining: I like to use cotton, linen or other breathable fabric.

Notions:

Fabric requirements

You will need the amounts listed in the chart below (54” or 135cm wide fabric) for both lining and exterior fabric. You may need slightly more if matching plaids/checks or have a directional fabric.

You will need to use 54” (135cm) wide fabric in order to get the width you need for the longer lengths in the M/L size.
