Welcome to Big Little
My treehouse design studio is tucked in the magical New Zealand rainforest - my happy place, where I design and create original sewing patterns for (mostly) children's garments, natural cloth dolls and their wardrobes and other crafty things.
All patterns have been vigorously tested so you can purchase with confidence. We specialise in simple construction - perfect for the beginner and adventurous beginner sewer. Each pattern comes with a full step-by-step tutorial with plenty of pictures to guide you every step of the way.

Can I sell what I've made from your patterns?
Yes! It is supported and encouraged. Please credit Big Little as the designer on your online product listings and on garment tags. Purchasers of Big Little patterns and tutorials are not authorized to sell products made from our designs on a wholesale or mass produced basis.
It is illegal to share, trade, reproduce or sell or copy any Big Little pattern. Please support our hard work and direct your friends to our shop to purchase their own copy of the pattern/s.

Physical items are fully refundable or eligible for exchange if returned to us in perfect condition. If a parcel fails to arrive 6 weeks from date of shipping, a refund will be given or replacement will be arranged. (Postage, custom made items and PDF patterns are non-refundable). In the unusual event of an issue arising, please do contact us so we can work it out together.
Simply follow the directions that appear on your screen upon completion of payment. Remember to save it to your hard drive before printing for your use.
How do I print my pattern?Big Little patterns and tutorials are designed to print perfectly on your home printer on both US Letter size as well as A4 size paper. Ensure you have “Actual Size” sizing option selection as well as scaling options set to “no scaling” or 100%. Ipads and mobile devices, although compatible with Adobe, will not display your pattern properly. Viewing and printing your pattern printout from a computer is the recommended option.
Your digital pattern download contains detailed instructions how to easily assemble your pattern.
We also warmly invite you to join the Big Little Pattern Group on Facebook - a friendly community where you can ask questions, receive pattern support and share pics of your finished Big Little garments. If you are interested in testing a pattern for Big Little, we do our "tester calls" there too.

Layered patterns are set up so each size can be printed independently. This means you can choose to print just the size/s you wish (or all of them). Very fancy and saves paper, ink, tape and sanity when there is the potential for a lot of overlapping lines.
Where can I find your hand-crafted garments?
When I do have handcrafted items available, they can be found for sale exclusively on this web site, which is updated with new things as and when I craft them.
How long does my item take to come?
If you've purchased a digital PDF download, it will be available immediately upon completion of payment. Just follow the directions that appear on your screen to download your file, and save it to your hard drive before printing for your use. If you've purchased a garment, your item will be shipped within a week of purchase. I make a trip to our local Post Office twice a week.
Yes. All international shipments are sent via International Air Mail. Please note, once items leave New Zealand they are not able to be tracked.
