Winter walks and woodland treasure hunts await as cooler breezes fill the air with excitement. A Pixie Pea Coat is made for days spent crunching pine needles underfoot and breathing in crisp air. Wrapped up well, you'll be ready to take on the world (and keep up with the little ones!)
Make old things new again! Twig & Tale patterns pair wonderfully with recycled fabrics. Look to gently-used vintage blankets and sheets for inspiration.
love the simplicity of this pattern, its the same as the childrens one.
I am loving this pattern. So very easy. Took total of 3 hours from cutting and final touches. I've made several of these now and love them. Will add a belt to my next one to give it a little more shape Around the waist
Such a beautiful and well drafted pattern. It is rather easy for a new sewer like me and i love the help that the community provided. Thanks Lisa.
This is the first time I have made something so adventurous. It was a test and I think I passed! The instructions were clear and easy to follow and it only took a few hours. i am super pleased! The coat is for my daughter. She chose the fabric which consisted of an Ikea fleece blanket and some rose printed cotton for the lining. She is 9 but tall for her age and is starting to wear age 12-14 clothes (I made a size 6). I figured that when we hit Autumn it will fit her perfectly. Thank you for such a great pattern!
Being Im in Australian the printing format was a bit of trial an error. But I worked it out in the end. The pattern itself is deceptively easily and the end result is quite impressive. It is certainly a pattern I would recommend to any adventurous beginner or above. I do wish to add though… PLEASE do consider releasing a Men’s coat ,)
Exterior: I like to use wool - in particular wool blankets, but you could also use heavier weight cottons, corduroy, denim, flannel, coating fabrics, wool felt or similar fabrics. Fleece and WindPro are also suitable fabrics. You could also use quilting cottons for a spring weight coat.
Lining: I like to use cotton, linen or other breathable fabric, but you can use regular lining fabric if you wish.
