The Wildvine instructions are really clear and step by step. The fit and size guide was spot on for me and I found the projector file had all the things that I love- clear lines, mirrored pieces and layers. I really enjoyed sewing this corset top. I made the top length with bound hem. I opted to fully line as my fabric is an upcycled white linen sheet and the finishes inside are beautiful.
This top is so cute and actually comfortable. The ties make it adjustable and a little whimsical. The v neck is also a nice depth, not too low. There are so many opportunities to customize and the pattern is beautifully descriptive. Sizing was spot on and easy to choose due to the extremely detailed sizing chart and alteration instructions. I will definitely be making another!
I wasn't sure if this top was going to be for me but oh my I love it so much..... when wearing it I feel like I have stepped out of a costume drama but with a modern twist. I particularly like the lacing at the sides which enable me to alter its fit for comfort and wear with or without a layer underneath.
One of the best features is the full lining- it makes it smooth and comfortable next to the skin. I enjoy using pretty offcuts inside to create hidden contrasts.
It is difficult to pick a favourite these all help to make your top just a little bit different. I really appreciate having so many options to choose from. Very often I just play pattern tetris and see which sleeve I can fit into my remaining fabric but for my double gauze one I knew I wanted to use the lantern sleeve and for this linen viscose I knew the pleated sleeve would be perfect.
As always the instructions are clear and easy to follow- and if these aren't enough options it is easy to adapt the pattern and create some of your own.
My daughter and I spent three days over a long weekend sewing this dress for her. She is still finishing the hem. The instructions were wonderful, and we learned much. We both plan to make more Windwards.
