Beautiful, Gentle Push Into the World of Embroidery Design

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect out of this design book, but it turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for. I have been doing embroidery in bits and pieces for the last couple years, inspired by my time as a Storyteller to try something new. I have always wanted a guide to branching out a bit on my own, but honestly wanted to feel like someone was holding my hand. The fact is I regularly doubt my inclinations, and tend to spend a lot of time browsing Pinterest for "ideas" and never feeling brave enough to take the plunge. This embroidery design book gave me just the push I needed. I wanted to do some embroidery on the waistband of a Wildflower pinafore and had an idea of what I wanted - some text, a moth, maybe a couple flourishes - but no hard concept of how to put the elements together so that they would work in the space where I wanted them. The lesson in the book on composition was so helpful for that. I chose a composition and then started dropping elements in. I used the color theory section to help me choose colors, which matched color elements in the print of the pinafore fabric. I am so happy with my first go at embroidery design! I hope to do a lot more. I am particularly interested in learning the seamless pattern method in the book which looks awesome!

Beautiful sewing pattern, well put together

This is such a special little sewing project, not very complicated and thoughtfully put together. I didn't think it would be so straightforward, but it went so smoothly and I'm so happy with the results. The shoes are really darling and the fact that they are reversible is also very cool. I'm so happy with this, I didn't think I would be able to make these myself and now I have made my daughter her very first pair of shoes and it feels so special. I love it, thank you for putting this together so I could make these milestone memorable shoes for my little one.

Super cute, versatile trousers

I made a few different muslins to get the fit how I liked (originally I thought I might need to add to the rise - I am 5’8” with a long torso) but the pattern actually didn’t need any adjustments. I ended up making size E with a very non stretch fabric and hemming about 3”. The Facebook group was very helpful in making adjustments (which ended up being adjusting back to the original pattern and making another size lol). Final project is the crazy print, the last muslin is the red flannel - aka pajama trousers.
