Introducing the Animal Stocking Collection

Some delightful new friends have arrived at T+T just in time for the holidays - a collection of eight charming animal stockings, ready to bring joy to the little (and big) people in your life.

Stockings are a cherished and much-anticipated part of our holiday traditions.  Filled with small gifts, there is a magic about them - even mundane items like socks and toothbrushes, when wrapped in tissue paper and carefully tucked into a stocking, are transformed into something extra-special.  And there must always be a satsuma orange in the toe!

The Twig + Tale Animal Stocking sewing pattern includes options for eight charming animals, each with its own unique appliqué details: bear, panda, deer, raccoon, fox, bunny, puppy, and kitty.  With all of these lovely choices, we hope that everyone will pick a favourite!  We think puppy and kitty stockings will be perfect for furry family members too.

Appliqué details, which add so much personality to these little critters, are perfect for using up small scraps of fabric, or upcycling pre-loved textiles (an upcycle guide is included in the pattern tutorial).  Don't feel intimidated if you've never tried appliqué before - this is a wonderful way to give it a try!

We enjoy combining pattern, colour, and texture to come up with playful and unique fabric combinations.  Machine stitch the appliqué, or add touches of hand stitching.  There is plenty of scope for adding personalized details - perhaps some hand embroidery, a bow, or some other sweet little embellishment.

The Animal Stockings pattern includes a print-at-home file for A4/US letter-sized paper, as well as a wide-format A0 file for the printshop.  The tutorial includes detailed instructions with plenty of photos and videos for each step of the process.

We hope that you enjoy sewing and gifting these sweet stockings, and that perhaps they will become a cherished part of your holiday traditions too!

We'd love to see you over at the Twig + Tale Facebook group where you can ask questions, look for inspiration, and of course share photos of your creations.  If you share on Instagram, tag your stockings #TTanimalstockings so that we can admire your lovely creations.
