Pixie Pea Coat Size Chart + Materials List

Intended Fit

This boxy style coat is designed to *hopefully* give you two years of wear.  With its long-line body and turned-back sleeve cuffs, it can often be worn the following year with the sleeves rolled down with a shorter, regular body length. The coat is designed to be roomy enough to be worn over layers.

Check the child’s measurements against the measurements in the size chart to get the best fit.  The sizes are generous and may NOT necessarily be the typical ready-to-wear sizing you might expect.

Suggested Fabrics

Exterior: I like to use wool - in particular wool blankets, but you could also use heavier weight cottons, corduroy, denim, flannel, coating fabrics, wool melton or similar fabrics. Fleece and soft-shell are also suitable. You could use quilting cottons for a spring weight coat.
Lining: I like to use cotton, linen or other breathable fabric, but you can use regular lining fabric if you wish.

Fabric Requirements

You will need the amounts listed in the chart below for both lining fabric and exterior fabric. You may need more if matching plaids/checks or if you have a directional fabric.
