Take our ever-popular Pathfinder Vest and pair it with this Animal Add-on for a fun, yet practical vest that keeps you warm as you run wild!

Skill level: Beginner - Adventurous beginner (animals with manes are a little more work)

By modifying the pattern pieces you can make almost any animal you can think of!

COMPATIBILITY + SIZING

This Vest Add-on is compatible with the Twig + Tale Pathfinder Vest patterns. The Baby + Child add-on is also compatible with the Petal Wrap Dress (animal dress anyone?!)

ALL the Adult Add-ons cover our complete adult size range:

Women's/Curved Fit size ranges 0-22/A-L and 14-38/H-T
Men's/Straight Fit size ranges 30-52 and 46-66.

ANIMAL ADD-ON FAQ

Q: Will this include the pattern for the actual vest?
A: You must purchase the Pathfinder Vest pattern separately, as these animal add-ons do NOT contain all the pattern pieces for the vest.

Q: Can I use the same animal add-on for all the garments patterns I have?
A: As the necklines are different between the garments, you will need to purchase the add-on specifically for the garment type you are sewing.

Q: Is there an add-on for the Adult Pathfinder Vests?
A: Lucky you, the Adult Animal add-on includes both the Men's/Straight Fit AND Women's Curved Fit size ranges in the one add-on - bonus!

SUPPLIES

Use the fabric requirement chart from your original garment pattern.

The Animal hood has the same fabric requirements as the Round hood. If adding a tail, allow another 1⁄4 yard or metre.

It is intended that your choice of ears can be cut from the scraps - however, if making a Bunny, Puppy or Giraffe, you may need to allow a tiny bit more fabric.

PRINTING INFO

This is a print-at-home PDF pattern and includes three printing options:

US Letter/A4 - tiled and designed to print on your home printer
Copyshop - A0 wide-format file (33.1″ x 46.8″)
Projector - specially-formatted and optimized for home projector use.

All pattern printing formats include “layers”, allowing you to print only the size(s) you need, or all of the sizes. A comprehensive sewing instruction tutorial is supplied.

The Animal Add-On was absolutely perfect to use with our Easter Pathfinder Vests! The instructions are well written and they came together beautifully ( thank goodness since I was in a rush to get 5 of them done😊). Of course we chose bunnies for Easter but I am looking forward to creating other animals for my grandchildren. Thank you for a wonderful pattern!

Child Pathfinder Vest

Both the pattern and instructions are very clear and easy to follow. It’s such a cute vest, and my grandson loves it!

The vest is made with a pair of up-cycled men’s jeans. The lining fabric salvage is used to embellish the pockets, which are directly from the jeans. I added one vintage button.

I really enjoyed this pattern. It is well written and such a fun design! I made a baby size 3-6 months. It was easy to print the templates at a smaller size to fit the smaller size vest. I can’t wait to make more of twig & tale patterns! This was the perfect first Halloween costume for my little guy!

So much fun

Excellent instructions as always. My kiddo requested to be a lion for Halloween this year and this pack worked out perfect. I used the scout pants pattern for the bottoms and mashed the hood to a not t&t top. The whole thing turned out great and kiddo is very happy.
