For outdoor adventures, muddy gardens, or messy jobs, the Rainhaven Overalls keep you dry and comfortable.  The simple, functional design can be pulled on over clothes, with the perfect amount of ease for unrestricted movement.

Sew them in waterproof fabric for rainy days, or in sturdy fabric such as canvas for durable utility overalls.

The pattern includes a selection of optional features such as a chest pocket, elastic stirrups to keep pant legs in place, and knee and seat patches that can be combined to make them your own.

A seam-sealing tutorial is included for a truly waterproof finish.

Skill Level: adventurous beginner

The Rainhaven Overalls feature:

  • Shaped bib for great coverage
  • Adjustable shoulder straps with buckles
  • Optional knee and seat patches for extra durability
  • Optional bib pocket
  • Optional stirrups to hold pant legs in place
  • Optional side snaps for trim fit
  • Seam-sealing tutorial
  • BLOG post for additional front patch pockets

Make old things new again! Twig & Tale patterns pair wonderfully with upcycled fabrics.  Hardware, such as clips, D-rings, and toggles could be re-used from old coats or backpacks.

Lovely pattern, wonderful instructions & slippery soft shell!

Fun sew, great transition piece

Tutorial and videos were easy to follow. A pretty quick sew. My first time sewing with soft-shell and I didn't have any problems. My daughter who hates elastic rain pants wears these all the time.

Easy to make

This is a great pattern! Make sure to check your wearers torso length so it isn’t too short in the crotch! The measurements are accurate as listed. Made one cloth pair for grandson and son-in-law. Comfy to wear.

The Rain Haven Overalls are a well written pattern that helped me work with a new type of fabric, learn a new technique (seam sealing) and create a well-made and useful garment for my kids. I know that Lisa's patterns are sized in such away that my kids should get 2 years of wear before I get to make another pair. They are perfect for the March weather in New England when snow is melting and snow pants absorb too much water to be comfortable. My kids put them on and jumped in puddles on the first day they were finished. They love the stirrup option to keep the pant legs over the boot tops. I used a coated nylon and a waterproof coated polyester (both Nike Storm Fit deadstock) and found the polyester easier to work with.
