Good, but others which are already printed are better and less hassle

Liked the look but the pattern was just far to much ease for my size.
The sleeves were cut following the pattern and they were far to big over the biceps and the forearms were 3x what I needed them to be.
Plus points are the comprehensive instructions and video tutorials.
I have completed a Bursa pattern of a similar design and that is vastly superior in design.
Just to close, its having to printout your own pattern on well over 30 pages of A4, then cut them and glue them together which is a pain in everywhere.

Thank you for your thoughts Colin. We do appreciate getting your feedback on our patterns!

The majority of our other patterns do include a large-scale A0 print file, to be used at a copyshop. This can prevent the need to tape as many pages together, if that would be helpful for you in achieving any of our other patterns.

As far as fit, Breeze is intended to be a loose fit, as a breezy beach shirt, but it sounds as though your experience was even a bit looser than that. Did you select based on measurements, or RTW size? And did you check your print scale?

If you'd like troubleshooting to use the pattern again in the future, we are always here to help - you may feel free to contact me anytime at support@twigandtale.com. All the best to you!

My husband loves it!

I’ve been looking for a shirt to fit my husband in a style that he likes. He wanted a mandarin collar type shirt and the Breeze Shirt was perfect. I cut a size a 60 (the largest size) and it fit him perfectly. I’ve made 2 already and have plans to make more. I like a more narrow collar so I will increase the seam allowance on the collar. Thank you for this lovely pattern.

Second project

This is my second project from Twig & Tale. Overall went a lot faster than the previous (vest) - I had some issues that I put down to bad technique (I'm a beginner, it's only my second garment.) I would advise that you need to make sure when sewing the backing onto the front piece that the fabric is flat, otherwise you'll end up with some bunching (not the end of the world, I didn't bother to undo my stitching and just left it.)

Also when attaching the inner part of the collar you need to sew the TOP of the collar and NOT the bottom (that comes later) I made this mistake as the video wasn't very clear, so have the video and written tutorial side by side. - I didn't bother with a front closure or the side cuts.

SIZING: I am a size 40 (with long arms - regular length in suit sizing) according to the chart but went with a 38 in the pattern as this is a roomy shirt. I used a double gauze with reinforcement of the collar and front backing as well as the sleeve roll up tabs. The French seems are AWESOME and a game changer for me, the garment looks great inside as-well and will last forever. Also, the garment has a really nice shape though you can't tell from my pics

Completion time was about 2 days not counting cutting out the pattern pieces of piecing the pattern from the prints. - Pic is pre wash.

I just purchased the female version for my better-half.

Cheers

Simple & Stylish

I love the simplicity of this pattern. I made a mock up first for my partner to check the sizing and fit and he loves it. Just waiting on a fabric delivery to make the real thing. The instructions are easy to follow and the collar/facing is a clever construction. It’s great to be able to make it out of different types of fabric. I know I will make many more for family members too.
Thanks for the great pattern!

Fantastic pattern

I made this shirt for my husband. It was my first attempt at Menswear. The directions were very thorough. I will definitely be making more.

Incredible design with beautiful outcome!

I made this linen shirt on my grandmother's Singer treadle sewing machine as I wanted all the French seams to be perfect. All I can say is that it was a slow sew and the end results were extremely gratifying. The videos along the way were so helpful for construction purposes and added to the depth of this pattern and the instructions. I still took my time and enjoyed every step. The final product was such a joy to give to my husband who LOVES wearing his linen pants. This Breeze top is the perfect addition to his wardrobe. I can highly recommend the Breeze Shirt for anyone looking for quality and function. It really is a beautiful shirt!

I love this shirt (so does my husband!)

I haven't sewn for years, and never downloaded a pattern, so the detailed instructions which came with this pattern were great. I recycled an old flannelette sheet as I felt I wanted to practice first, but I'm really pleased with the finished shirt. It looks amazing and yet it's not as difficult as I thought it would be. The french seams give it a really professional, smart finish, but the style is relaxed and timeless. It's also a great fit for my husband who always struggles to get anything long enough. He loves it! I think I will be making several more for him with some different options.

Excellent pattern

I did not make any change to the pattern and it turned out splendidly! My husband has wider shoulders and wider arms and this pattern, with the relaxed fit, is the perfect match for him. I also purchased another pattern (indulging myself this time) and can't wait to start sewing again.

Mens Breeze Shirt

I really like this pattern. It is well drafted with excellent instructions. Overall it came together really well. The only bit I didn't like was the way the side splits were done. It didn't feel intuitive and I felt there were easier methods ... but that is only my opinion. I feel this shirt has something different to offer with it's lovely style details. I did make a size smaller than stated on the packet as it has a lot of ease and the fit turned out fine. I will definitely make another probably with eyelets and leather laces to thread through. I would make it out of linen again as it has a rustic feel.

Lovely pattern

This pattern is very easy to follow - even for an inexperienced sewer like me. The instructions are very clear. I've made two so far - one a practice shirt out of an old duvet cover, and one out of some lovely drapey viscose. My husband loves them - they're just his style, so lots of brownie points for me :) Everything I'd made previously was for me so I'm really glad to have found something I can make for him without having to do any complicated fitting. I can see me making lots of these.
