Easy to Wear

I love how this dress turned out! The fit is comfortable and flattering, the pockets are wonderful, and I really like the way the gathered neckline and skirt give it such an easy, feminine shape. The flounce sleeves are such a pretty detail too. It’s comfortable enough for everyday wear but still feels special. Definitely a pattern I’d make again!

My New Favorite Skirt

Super easy sew for this beginner and turned out even better than I hoped giving me a much needed win in the completed garments category. The waistband is definitely the highlight for me—having that flat front keeps it looking put-together, while the elastic back means it’s super comfortable. It has the perfect amount of swish without drowning in extra fabric, and deep pockets are non-negotiable in my wardrobe anyway. As always, Twig + Tale nailed the instructions. I’m already planning my next one. Pictured here with my scenic top.

Loves it!

I made a pair for my husband recently and they have been his most worn shorts of late. So much so, that I asked if he would like another pair. The fit is great! The tutorial gives you all the help with how to pick a size and how to construct. Highly recommend!

Loved this!

I really loved making the Driftwood Blouse! The instructions are excellent, but what I appreciated most was how much thought has clearly gone into the construction. There were so many little moments while I was sewing where I thought, “Oh, that’s clever!” Everything just came together so nicely.

I made the long-sleeved version in a lightweight cotton gingham, and I love how it turned out. The gathers at the neckline and sleeves give it such a pretty, relaxed shape, and it’s really comfortable to wear.

This isn’t my first Twig + Tale pattern, and this is exactly why I keep coming back to them. The instructions don’t just tell you what to do—they seem to anticipate the places where you might get confused and guide you through them. I never felt like I had to stop and puzzle out what the designer meant.

I’m really happy with my Driftwood—I can definitely see another one in my future.

Stepping into another world

The Wildvine Top pushed my comfort levels in wonderful ways. I had never sewn a corset-style piece before, and as a self-taught, time-conscious māmā of 2 under 2, I was very nervous about how intricate it looked. To my surprise, it was very straightforward and super easy to follow. I chose a linen-look material, which involved a few extra steps of ironing on interfacing, but other than that, it did not take too much time to whip up. If I can do it, so can you! After seeing the hem version layered and styled in so many different ways, I definitely plan on making a few in that style to go with multiple of my other fun patterned dresses :D. While I tend to dress more 20s-50s in my style, I do love cosplay, and adding a fun bold print will bring this to my everyday wear rotation.
