The simple magic of the Traveller Cape pattern is its simplicity; slip it on for warmth getting to and fro, and watch them transform into whomever their heart desires.

Before they take the throne in a land of enchantment, before they set off into the woods with a band of knights, they don a cape and stand tall, heads held high towards the clouds.

Easy to make and easy to wear, it indulges kids' fairytale-esque ways.  Everything from cloak length costumes, to an everyday alternative to a coat, this pattern does it all.

Nothing makes a child's imagination soar quite like a cape...

Adorable!

I'm just so proud of the result! My daughter loves it and was a sweet little red ridding hood today at Carnaval! I could make it out of materials I had around, and even the button is made out of an avocado seed (inspo from the T&T community). I love it to pieces and I'm super motivated to start my next project. Thank you for bringing so much beauty and calm to our lifes T&T!

Great success

I wanted to make a Christmas cape to go over a tulle tiered dress for my 5 yr old granddaughter. This lovely simple easy to follow pattern ticked the boxes with ample scope for creative embellishments (next time) I had a small remnant of wool mix in my stash and a lovely piece of cotton lawn for lining added velvet ribbon and pom-poms. Granddaughter was thrilled with swishy cape to prance around in. I’m looking forward to making a lot more of these for my 3younger grand kids
Going to try adding arm slits to next one !

Really worth it and so much easier than I thought

This was a lovely item to sew. I didn't have any measurements for the child I made this for, other than an age. Silly me bought fabric with a nap, and a super slippery lining, plus a gold trim! And even with all of this the cape came together really quickly and it fits beautifully! I drafted simple cloaks before as dress-up items, but this sits so much better across the shoulders and the drape is lovely! I think i'll use the pattern next for some rainwear for my own children, it'll be perfect to put on quickly and will fit over their school backpacks.

Perfect Flower Girl Cape!

My son is to be married soon and my granddaughter is to be the flower girl. I wanted a perfect warm 'coat' to go with the liberty print dress and saw the TT Traveller Cape. What a great decision!! Very easy to follow instructions, easy to put together and I was wrapped with the result! I increased the front panels so I could add a button, and even found the perfect blue velvet button to go with the navy velvet material used.
I will definitely use the pattern to make some other capes from recycled materials for the cooler months!
Thank for Twig and Tale for again developing such an amazing pattern and allowing the TT community to enjoy their love of sewing! <3

A Cape for my Daughter

My 10 year-old daughter decided to be a moon goddess for Halloween. The traveler cape was the perfect addition to her costume. I made it using a shimmery navy blue satin from Joann’s Fabrics. The directions were easy to follow and I especially appreciated Twig and Tale’s blog post that guided me with lengthening the pattern.

Great for dress-up!

My kids wanted capes for at home and also to play dress-up or use for costumes. We did it in a stretch velvet and it worked out great. Nice and warm and swishy!

Hero cape needed? Twig and tale to the rescue!

When your 5 year old granddaughter needs a hero cape, you go searching for a pattern. Thankfully I found Twig and Tales traveller cape! I needed to add a widows peak at the front of the hood, as she wanted to be Raven. Between this pattern and my husbands 3D printing skills, we produces a pretty darn good cape for her costume.
Thank you for a great, easy to sew pattern!
