Doll - New Zealand Leaf Blanket - Materials List + Size Chart

Suggested fabrics:

This pattern is designed for non-stretch woven fabrics. If you wish to use stretch wovens or knits, it is recommended that you lightly interface the fabric first to give it stability. Suitable stable wovens fabrics include: quilting cotton, drill, chambray, denim, suiting, rayon, linen, cotton, bamboo, calico, double gauze, corduroy, flannel, wool, canvas, etc.

Supplies and notions:
  • Spool of coordinating thread
  • Optional contrasting thread for quilting lines
  • Safety pins
  • Iron-on transfer pencil or washable marker for marking the veins
  • Batting - minimum 25mm (wool, cotton, bamboo, or polyester)
Fabric requirements:

As these wee blankets are quite small, you will likely be able to use leftover fabric from another project.  However, if you wish to purchase fabric especially you will need up to 24" (60cm) of 43" (110cm) wide fabric for the largest size doll blanket.  For the batting you will need half this amount.

You can use a different fabric for the top and bottom of the blanket, in which case use half of the length measurement for each side.
