"I absolutely love the Lorien Lace-up Skirt pattern and the Skirt Hikes. They let me live my best heroic fantasy fan life every day—whether I'm going for a hobbitcore or piratecore look. It's truly the perfect pattern: a piece that allows me to be myself on the days I feel like embracing fantasy."

"I had no idea where this skirt would be taking me but as I sewed my garden irises also unfurled and I couldn’t help but marvel at what a colour match they were to my fabric.
These irises have had a journey around the UK- they started life in my sister’s garden in North Wales, a piece then bloomed outside my mother’s Somerset kitchen window. A piece from that I brought to Salisbury and a piece of mine is now bringing joy in my daughter’s London garden.
It led me to deciding that my Lorien would be a traveller skirt, a garment to wear when seeking new delights. I like to think I will be a modern day Marianne North when I wear it. I will be a modern day collector of experiences albeit armed with a camera phone and not oils and easel!"

"I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I started sewing the waist tabs; there are so many gorgeous details in the pattern that you don't truly appreciate until you make it. I was so excited seeing the skirt coming together that I couldn't wait to carry on and I rushed through my Sunday planned life admin to get back to my sewing machine and attach the skirt. It's the first time in a while I've felt so excited about a sewing project and I couldn't be happier with the finished skirt."

"I love how Twig + Tale patterns encourage you to repurpose materials when making their patterns. Since this is a full skirt and I knew it would use a fair bit of fabric, I popped over to the thrift store to see if I might find something that would be suitable. I found an awesome bit of fabric in the bedsheets section - much thicker and higher quality than most sheets I see, with a nice amount of body for a skirt like this. It was stamped with Wabasso Cotton Co. A bit of digging shows that the Wabasso Cotton Co was established in Trois-Rivières, Quebec in 1907 and changed its name to Wabasso Limited in 1967, making this fabric 58+ years old. It’s still in great shape. I was thrilled to honour it with the Lorien Skirt."

Adaptable clothing that doesn’t scream adaptable has been more and more on my radar recently and this skirt does not disappoint. I chose natural fibres and love how it fits in with my aesthetics and needs.
