This sweet, simple little dress has stolen our hearts. Featuring an easy a-line shape and pretty rounded petal-shaped panels that cross over at the front and fasten at the sides.
A truly versatile piece that can be made dress or tunic length, the Petal Wrap is also fully reversible, offering two looks in one. Sew it in lightweight linen or cotton for summer, or cosy wool or corduroy for winter.
Skill level: Beginner
Make old things new again! Twig & Tale patterns pair wonderfully with recycled fabrics. Look to gently used linen garments, corduroy or woollen trousers, and pretty printed cotton dresses for inspiration.
UPDATE: There is now an Expansion Pack with sizes 5-10 so our older children can have a Petal too!

This pattern also includes an additional wide format file that can be taken to a local copy shop and printed on single sheets of A0 paper.
Pattern was very easy to follow with clear instructions. A quick sew even for this “adventurous beginner” sewist. The dresses came out great.
Great patten. Very clear instructions. I made a reversible cotton print dress in size 12-18m using the largest pocket and self drafted sleeve ruffles. The lining encloses the seams for a neat finish.
The pattern is so simple and versatile, it uses just a tiny bit of material and is scrappy friendly, which I adore. This one is tunic length, I already have one more tunic and four dresses cut, and ready to sew. With a bit of imagination, you can do a lot of things with this pattern. Enjoy!
the whole concept of being able to download a pattern is great and these come with all the sizes easily marked etc. But I did struggle with the printing of the pattern and specifically the chosen size and ended up with multiple copies. Of course this could be due to my printer and its software. Other than that I look forward to making my first item from Twig and Tale Bx
The Tulip Wrap Dress & Tunic is such a timeless style, popular across generation. This pattern, in particular, is simple enough for even the earliest beginner seamstress!
The instructions were lovely! I'm an beginner to intermediate sewist & sometimes struggle with the instructions but these were perfect!
I love this pattern. It was so easy to follow and my daughter loves it. It's also nice that it is reversible. The directions were easy to follow and the videos included really helped when I would get a little stuck. I used snap buttons, which I don't recommend for a 1.5 year old because she opens it all the time. But next time I will use other closure options.
