Pattern is written well with clear instructions. Some steps took a little extra finesse and a lot of ironing, but overall these wings turned out better than I expected!
Easy to follow, great pattern. I did Ault M size. Hand waxed the fabric and made the brim a little wider, but still it is great pattern.
This is such a beautiful coat- yes I was initially apprehensive - it has been a long time since I have made a full length lined coat with tailored sleeves - but the pattern is so well explained that it is very straightforward to sew your own beautiful version.
I used a light tweed coat weight fabric and I won't lie it was a weighty beast when I got to the final stages- but just make sure you have a big clear sewing space and all will come together beautifully. I chose to use a 'proper' coat lining which was a good move as the coat eases on over my clothes- if you want a different fabric for the main coat lining I would suggest using a silky sleeve lining.
Great pattern and instructions, everything fit well and seams aligned smoothly with the hood attachment taking a bit of care pinning from the center out to the edges. Was a fun challenge for a first sewing project and was the perfect finishing touch for my renaissance festival costume. 🏰
Oh my gosh, I am by no means a seamstress or even a glorified sewer. I do make some clothes for my children and these are wonderful overalls. I sew when my family sleeps so my seams aren’t always straight and in the end everything fits and is made with love.
The pockets can fit two medium size potatoes in each of them, even potatoes in the back pockets. Also, plenty of rocks and fall leaves.
I embroidered their initials on the front and they picked out their lining fabric. I am working on a few more pairs now.
