Suggested fabrics:

This pattern is designed for non-stretch woven fabrics. If you wish to use stretch wovens or knits, it is recommended that you lightly interface the fabric first to give it stability. Suitable stable woven fabrics include: quilting cotton, drill, chambray, denim, suiting, rayon, linen, cotton, bamboo, calico, double gauze, corduroy, flannel, wool, canvas, etc.

Supplies and notions:
  • Spool of coordinating thread
  • Optional contrasting thread for quilting lines
  • Safety pins
  • Iron-on transfer pencil or washable marker for marking the veins
  • Batting - minimum 25mm (wool, cotton, bamboo, or polyester)

Fabric requirements:

For the blanket, you will need the following amount of fabric. For the batting, you will need half this amount.

You can use a different fabric for the top and bottom of the blanket, in which case use half of the length measurement for each side.
