This pattern requires fabric with a good amount of drape to avoid a stiff-looking skirt, but thick enough to avoid a transparent garment.
Suggested Fabrics
Summer options: include lightweight linen, rayon, silk, seersucker, Tencel, and chambray. Double gauze, voile, Georgette, lawn and muslins can be used but will need to be lined to add some support and reduce sheerness.
Winter options: include chambray, wool, soft corduroy, and thinner velvets.
Other Supplies & Notions
- Spool of coordinating thread
- Up to 16" (40cm) or light to medium-weight interfacing to stabilise the facings. Non-woven and knit types are both suitable, but knit will be more durable.
- 3 buttons or snaps
- Optional - 1/3" (9mm) wide bias binding (or make your own). Up to 3.2yd (2.9m) for faced version, or 39.5" (1m) for lined version.
- Optional: Up to 11" (28cm) of 3/4" (2cm) wide elastic
