Suggested fabrics
Exterior: I like to use vintage woolen blankets, but you can use any warm fabric such as wool, wool blends, corduroy or velvet. Fleece and soft-shell are also suitable fabrics. You could also use quilting cottons for a spring weight vest.
Lining: Cotton, linen, flannel or other soft breathable fabric.
Other Supplies & Notions
- Spool of coordinating thread
- Large buttons or toggles to fasten (Alternatively, you could use snaps or domes)
- Cord elastic for fastening loops - optional
- Interfacing for buttons strips - optional
- Scraps of iron-on interfacing and stuffing for ears
- Scraps of felt, suede or leather for claws and “paw pads” of certain animals
- Scraps of felt or fur for tail detailing for certain animals
- Pipe cleaners for Giraffe ossicones, Ladybird antennae or antlers
- Ball of yarn for the mane of Lion, Zebra, Horse, Donkey and Unicorn (You could also use felt strips, fleece, ricrac, ribbon or something similar)
- Applique paper - optional
- Stuffing for the tail - optional
- Metallic thread for Unicorn detailing
