We're pleased to offer you a FREE pattern for a Tailor's Pressing Ham.  A firmly-stuffed, rounded pressing mould, a tailor's pressing ham is indispensable when pressing curved or shaped seams.

This pattern includes pieces for both a regular ham and a sleeve ham.

Take the time to press seams well, and we think you'll be thrilled with the results.  We hope you find it to be a useful addition to your sewing supplies.

Tailor Ham free pattern

Thank you for the free pattern which I have now made. I used calico for the inner and 10oz natural 100% cotton canvas for the outer. The instructions were very easy to follow. I used wood shavings from pet store. It takes quite a bit of stuffing but I have ended up with a good firm ham which is as good as a bought one, very pleased. Thank you.

Easy and Fun

The pattern was well written and easy to follow. Was fun creating the ham as well

Been looking for ham pattern for ages

I made both shapes. Great pattern, easy to follow. I used old sheet (tight weave) for inner, didn’t have any suitable wool for outer so used thick quilting cotton. Filled with wood shavings (from pet shop). If I made another one I would use the ground walnut shells I use for pin cushions, these are fine so one could use a funnel which would make life easier and less messy. I would also leave opening on short edge.

Pressing Praise

I couldn’t be happier with my pressing hams. I made both sizes out of a thrifted wool skirt and saw dust. Tutorial and video made it so easy. Thanks T&T!!

Great addition to my sewing room

I finally decided that a rolled up towel just wasn’t working as a tailors ham! Did an online search and found this great pattern from T&T. It was a perfect way to use up some of the pure wool lining from my late Dad’s favourite coat. Having 2 indoor cats also meant a plentiful supply of wood chip cat litter was on hand too! Can’t wait to use them now.

Ham it up!

I made both patterns and am quite pleased. The patterns are perfect. I didn't manage to get the "stuffing" as firm as the store bought ones but they are plenty firm enough for their purpose.
Cudos to the pattern makers!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I swerved the spillage of the wood bits by using a canning funnel. They have a large outlet at the bottom the size of a regular mason jar and it is easy to insert this, pour in the stuffing and then punch down in between pours. I still did it outside but doing it this way made very little spillage.

So helpful!

I made the sleeve ham, and it will be used constantly! Perfect for pressing pant legs, sleeves, and more. Thank you!
