Introducing the Petal Wrap Dress

This sweet, simple little dress has stolen our hearts.  A truly versatile piece that can be made dress or tunic length, the Petal Wrap is also fully reversible, offering two looks in one.

Sew it in lightweight linen or cotton for summer, or cosy wool or corduroy for winter - the Petal Wrap is adaptable, adorable, and play-ready for all seasons.

The Petal Wrap Dress has an easy a-line shape, with pretty rounded petal-shaped panels that cross over at the front and fasten at the sides.  Choose from the dress-length, which falls right around the knee, or the shorter tunic length.  Finished with no exposed seams, the Petal is fully reversible and can be made with different fabric on each side for two looks.

Adaptable to a range of fabrics, the Petal works well for all seasons.  Sew one with lovely linen or light cotton for warm-weather wear (we love the look of the tunic length paired with Tree Climber Pantaloons or Pixie Shorts for summer).  Or, make one in cosy wool or corduroy and layer it over tights for cooler weather.  Either way, the Petal Wrap is comfortable and play-ready for little ones.

The dress features a well-placed pocket, because we know how how important it is to have a place to store treasures.

Do you already have the Pathfinder Vest, Pixie Pea Coat or Animal Upgrade?  If so, we are so pleased to tell you that the elements such as hoods  (pixie, round, and animal options), as well as the ruffle sleeves and collar work beautifully with the Petal Wrap Dress.  Just imagine the possibilities!

The Petal Wrap Dress is appropriate for beginners, though we think that more experienced seamstresses will enjoy making it too.  The tutorial is clear and thorough, with video clips, photos, and helpful tips to guide you through the entire project.  The PDF pattern includes a range of sizes from Preemie to 4, and the layered file allows you to print just the size(s) you need.  Print formats include A4, US Letter, and A0 formats.

We hope that you enjoy sewing this charming little dress and look forward to seeing your versions!  The pattern's simplicity means that it's just waiting for you to come up with your own ideas for customization.  Hoods, ruffles, trims, colour-blocking, embroidery... how will your Petal Wrap look?
