The Twig + Tale forest is growing again! We're so pleased to announce the release of the Tropical Leaf Blanket Collection, inspired by the lush, dense foliage found in warm, summery climates.
The idea for the Leaf Blanket Collection was dreamed up by Lisa's daughter, who is passionate about restoring and protecting jaguar habitat. She is thrilled that a portion of the sales from this pattern will go towards planting trees and protecting animals.

The Tropical Leaf Collection includes six beautiful new leaf styles: Banana Leaf, Elephant Ear, Fan Leaf, Lily Pad, Monstera, and Paw Paw. Each leaf style includes unique shaping, as well as quilting templates that highlight the details of each leaf, creating lovely texture and depth.
Like all of our leaf collections, the Tropical Leaves are available in both child and doll sizes. The Child-sized leaf blankets are perfectly sized for use as a play mat, change mat, or cuddle blanket. We find them versatile for outdoor play as well, and often pack one along for a visit to the park or beach for a picnic blanket, impromptu cape, or cosy place to read a book.
The Doll-sized leaf blankets include a range of four sizes suitable for dolls and stuffed animals 9-18 inches in size. An inviting addition for play scenes and nature tables, they make lovely open-ended, creative playthings for little hands and are sure to be put to use in lots of different ways.
We have so enjoyed seeing the many ways that leaf blankets can be used for nature-inspired home décor. Larger leaves look beautiful draped over a couch or bed, while small leaves make charming table runners, placemats, or chair pads.
The Tropical Leaf Blanket patterns include a clear, thorough tutorial that includes photos, videos, and helpful tips to guide you through the entire project. The layered pdf pattern allows you to print just the size(s) you need, and is available in A4 and A0 formats.
The Tropical Leaf Blankets are a project well-suited for sewists of all levels, including beginners. Even if you have never quilted before, this is the perfect way to give it a try - a small, manageably-sized project with a satisfying end result. All that is required is a regular home sewing machine.
