My son wanted to go as Mothra this year for Halloween. I knew 100% that I was going to use this pattern as my begining steps for the costume. It was a great project and the tutorials were spot on. My son is very happy and I feel really good about how it all came out.
This was my first time using a digital pattern, I was nervous about it, but it was actually really easy with all the numbers and markings on the paper! Just took a little time to tape them together, but it wasn’t hard! I used a cotton valor for the outer fabric and interlock cotton for the liner. I consider myself still a beginner sewing, I’ve been making easy clothes patterns for a couple years now. I thought the directions were very clear and easy to follow. This is my most favorite thing I’ve made yet. I’m just so pleased with how it turned out. I can’t wait to make another for my son!
I used this pattern for a client's clown costume. I love that the pattern is so clearly marked and is easy to make adjustments to. I also bought the collar add on.
I got this pattern for little gnome capes for my daughters and it's so adorable. I used the pointy hoods and sewed on a magnetic snap for the closure. Mine are pretty bulky because I used a two layer wool blend for the outside and a flannel sheet for the lining but it still looks great with the top stitching. It's cold here on Halloween. I might make summer weight ones in the spring so they can play in them all year round. I think the cloaks will really grow with them!
This pattern is not for the faint of heart, but it produces such a beautiful result! I have been sewing for 20+ years with many techniques under my belt. This pattern still had something to teach me! This is not your average cloak pattern. The creators at Twig & Tale really thought of everything with this pattern- the arm slits, multiple pocket options, high-low hem, and a beautiful shoulder fit. I can't say enough good things about this cloak! Yes, it will be challenging but you will fall in love with it by the time it's completed.
