    Christmas gifts 2020

I used the aviator pattern for my grandson and son-in-law's Xmas gifts. They were a bit more of a challenge for me to make but the instructions were very clear.

Fantastic pattern. My kids selected very different fabrics and buttons, ending up with very different styles from the same pattern. Very warm and a nice alternative to beanies!

    Fun little pattern

Well written pattern succinct and easy to follow. I did have one small glitch where I sewed two seams wrong. I went to their page, asked the question and they had me on my way quite quickly. I have made two hats and see many more in my future. I should also mention I took the recycling challenge and am using thrifted fabric.

    Lovely hat design

I bought this pattern to make a secret santa present and it went down SO well! I have since made another four and have enjoyed making them all. I made some out of waterproof fabric and fluffy blanket on the inside and they are great in cold, drizzly weather. Absolutely loads of compliments on them too. I measured my girls' heads and they came up as L child but they were a little tight still. I think this is because I used the thick material to line it so would go up a size next time.

Very cute with some fitting problems

I made the aviator hat for my two years old daughter’s Halloween costume as Amelia Earhart with the intention of creating something that she could use all winter… the hat came out super cute but definitely too big and even if someone might say that it’s good she had some room to grow in, she didn’t want to wear it because the hat kept covering her eyes (and when she had the jacket on, it was even worse) so I had to unpick and start over. Eventually I managed to have a hat that she can happily wear. If it wasn’t for the sizing problem I had, the pattern itself is very well done with lots of pictures and clear instructions. I will definitely give it a go again because everyone is complimenting my daughter when she’s wearing her aviator hat!

Thank you for your review - I'm so glad to hear you eventually got a hat you loved! It really is quite darling. I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot fitting if you like - you can email me at support@twigandtale.com and I can go over it with you for future makes!

This was fun to make but I was unsure of the sizing for a 1 1/2 year old. I chose M, but it was too small after all the work. I’ll send it to a friend’s granddaughter going into northern hemisphere winter.

Love this pattern (and Twig and Tale)!

I have made multiple Twig and Tale patterns. As a beginner, I can't begin to explain how thankful I am for these patterns. I will be making lots of these for Christmas gifts this year.

Absolutely love this pattern! Made three already even though I bought the pattern during a heatwave and winter is still a couple months away! I have a few more planned, they're nice and easy to make and the pattern instructions are really well laid out!
