Create an outdoor-persons dream vest ... pockets galore for every gadget and tool.
The Fishing Vest add-on contains a V-neck front, loops for hanging vital fishing equipment, and 8 pockets of different sizes and shapes to mix and match, including classic box pockets and simple patch pockets.
This is an add-on to the Adult Trailblazer Vests. You need to either own the Men's or Women's Trailblazer Vest pattern, or purchase a bundle using the dropdown menu for all the required pattern pieces.
Make old things new again! Twig & Tale patterns pair wonderfully with upcycled fabrics. Look to canvas or drill pants, and gently used corduroy garments.

Printing Info + FAQ
This is a print-at-home PDF pattern and includes three printing options:
- US Letter/A4 - tiled and designed to print on your home printer
- Copyshop - A0 wide-format file (33.1″ x 46.8″)
- Projector - specially-formatted and optimized for home projector use. Read more about using our projector files here
All pattern printing formats include “layers”, allowing you to print only the size(s) you need, or all of the sizes. A comprehensive sewing instruction tutorial is supplied.

I absolutely love how this turned out! I had a request for a vest with “tons of pockets… pockets on pockets!” and I knew T&T would have something that fit the ticket! I have yet to find another company with directions as clear as Twig & Tale, and I’m sure the fit will be spot on. Sewing this company’s patterns is helping me develop an appreciation for the process as much as the product!
This add-on makes a functional pattern even more so. There are so many great pocket options, making the best totally customizable. The box pockets are a little tricky, but the instructions guided me through them painlessly. The end result is a vest with loads of storage that’s getting lots of love and wear.
This pattern is fabulously easy to sew, and fun to personalize. Definitely recommend it.
I have been wanting to make my husband a custom fishing vest, designing it with him. And this pattern is perfect for making just that. Made with water repellent oil skin and lined in flannel. Thank you Lisa and T & T for another wonderful pattern! Here's a pic as it's finally completed!
There just aren’t many patterns for men.I have made patterns before but it is hard to make a pattern for yourself when there is no one as knowledgeable as you who can help tailoring the pattern for yourself. This pattern gives a great starting point. Once I made test shell I was able to adjust the pattern. The PDF file is great, pasting it all together is a bit tedious but it works. I am so glad there is rubber cementI downloaded everything in the event I get access to a plotter
I made a size 44 for my son out of a camo fabric. He enjoys the multiple pockets on the vest for all the little bits and peaces men collects. It looks fantastic. This pattern has easy to follow instructions with detailed photos and is a dream to sew.
Clear instructions with helpful photos made it easy to make a fisherman's vest for my husband. I liked having multiple pocket sizes and styles to choose from, I did a mixture of box and patch pockets and they both look fantastic. Husband loves the finished product too, it's great for all the bits and pieces you need when taking the kids fishing.
Brilliant pattern easy to use, have made it in5xl was easy to sketch even in large size
