Love the cute Fawn cover I made for Miss 5, now my older 3 boys have requests in!
Granddaughter very happy with her „ Kittie“ hot water bottle cover. Pattern easy to understand. Thank you
Excellent pattern !
Loved making these! I've made the fawn and fox and they turn out so super cute! I gave both mine away as gifts so now it's time ot make some more. Very easy sew and look gorgeous in recycled wool.
Bought this pattern, primarily to do the fawn as I thought it was really cute. I would advise to read all the instructions before you start as it did jump about a little but once you understand the sequence the instructions, along with the pictures, it is fairly simple to follow. The end result is exactly like the pictures. I’m so please with it. Will now think about doing the panda or fox.
hi, I bought this a while ago and finally made this last weekend (i even made 3 of them for my 3 boys!) so easy to make for me (i'm absolutely a huge beginner) so thank you twig and tale!!!
I made 4 different animals and love them all❤️. Instructions and picture gallery of ideas were excellent. My kids all love theirs and have started sleeping with them every night. "Mommy, can you please fill up my deer "❤️❤️ So cozy, practical, and fun!
Easy to follow pattern, with beautiful results.
1/2 yard (or metre) of 44” (115cm) fabric will make two covers, but you will need this amount to make one.
Scraps - with the largest piece needed being approx 8.5” x 10” (22cm x 26cm).
Base fabrics for the cover need to be soft and warm and something you would like to cuddle up to! I find these covers are particularly well suited for recycling soft wool fabrics such as blankets and woolen pants or skirts. Other warm, soft fabrics such as fleece, minky, felted wool sweaters, wool blends, velvet or stable knits are also suitable; however, please be aware of the following two points when choosing fabric.
1) You will need to be able to iron your fabric, so some fleece fabrics may be unsuitable for this reason.
2) You will need to stabilise any stretchy fabrics by adding iron-on stabiliser to the back of the fabric/sweater before you start to prevent stretching as you sew on the facial features.
Detail fabrics for the facial features need to be lightweight and not prone to heavy fraying. Regular quilting cotton or something similar is recommended. If you use anything heavier than this, your sewing machine may struggle to get through all the layers in certain places.
