Bring a touch of nature inside with these whimsical, quilted leaf blankets inspired by deciduous forests of North America, where the lush green leaves of summer change to blazing canopies of red, orange, and yellow in autumn.

A simple, satisfying project, these diminutive leaves are suitable for critters 9-18 inches in size.  They make lovely open-ended playthings for little hands.

Dreamed up by Lisa's sweet, nature-loving girl, a portion of the sales went towards reforestation projects and protecting animal habitat.   Read more about her project here.

Skill level: Beginner.  No quilting experience required, and all you need is a regular sewing machine.

Such a fun pattern.

Great clear instructions as ever with twig and tale patterns. I've made the small so far as a baby shower gift but will be coming back to make a set of the minis from scraps. It didn't take very long at all once I'd made my fabric for the front.

like everything else Amaaaaaaaazing!

i always try and find a multi use when buying patterns. i've gotten crinkle paper to add to the middle, and shrunk the Ex Small by 50%. This way my son's class can toss and crunch them during the songs they do. It's such an amazing sensory friendly learning shape. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Surprisingly simple

I don't do quilting, so I was a bit nervous about these leaves, but they are so lovely that I decided to give it a try. The instructions are so clear, I was never confused and the results were great. Also, my daughter loved the one I made as practice, so I will keep making more!

Leafy

These look so fun I had to get the pattern. I have a lot of fabric and I look forward to making a bunch soon. What a great, fun way to add colour to a room!

What a beautiful pattern!

I sewed a large leaf blanket within a couple hours. Very detailed instructions and an enjoyable sewing experience.

Brilliant idea for a brilliant cause! The pattern is easy to follow and I've now got all of the leaf patterns. They are a bit addictive to make. This is the quickest one I've made. I was on a tight deadline: I bought the pattern on the Sunday and finished it by Wednesday evening.

A lovely pattern and easy project

I absolutely loved this project. I fell in love with the leaf blanket collection and really struggled to choose which pattern bundle to buy. Finally opted for the tropical collection and Monstera leaf.
It's going to be a gift for my second daughter who turns one soon. I haven't managed to make anything since she was born, so I was really chuffed to get to complete this.
I'm not a quick worker but got everything I would need ready and completed it in one day, including cutting out the pattern. Hopefully this will encourage anyone to give it a go!
As usual, the instructions are beautifully laid out and straightforward to follow. Thank you

So much fun!

I just made one of the leaf blankets from the New Zealand collection to use as a dog bed for my very large puppy. The second I put it on the floor, he was on it and it’s now his favourite place to hang out when he isn’t busy destroying my garden. It was a very easy and fun make, and it looks great in my living room. I’m now making a couple more to use as furniture throws.
Great designs!
