A beautiful project to make, well received

I loved making this project for a friend's 2-year old, and it was very well received.
I followed the pattern instructions exactly except for attaching the strap loops with hand sewing rather than having a line of stitching on the 'good' side. the recommended interfacing (Pellon 809) worked really well. I do wonder if the straps would be long enough for an older child, but for a slim 2 year old they were fine.

Double Side Purple Dragon wings

This pattern is brilliant and such a great sew. I made modifications to make it double sided, my daughter was so happy to have dragon wings!

One of the three wing bundle patterns.

When I saw that Twig and Tale had a sale with the three wing bundle I jumped at the chance to get a few of them. I bought the dragonfly, monarch butterfly and dragon wings patterns.
My oldest grandson is 4 and when I've looked at Twig and Tale on occasions that he has been with me he always liked both the dragon and dragonfly wings.
I made the dragonfly wings, just make sure that you read the instructions a couple of times before you cut anything out. I read them once, then cut out the material, then put the iron on interfacing on. They still worked out, but probably would have been easier if I put the interfacing on the material then cut it out. Like I said, they turned out fine. My choice of material was a bit difficult to sew. I used some leftover material from a costume I made his Dad in highschool, and I bought a small amount of material that is shiny and has what looks like scales. Very hard to see when doing the applique. At first my grandson didn't want the body of the dragonfly, but changed his mind a few days later. So completed it today.
I used the batting that is used for bags that I saw someone suggested, well, my machine didn't like it all the time, and the centre seam was difficult to hand crank with a computerised machine. But all worked out in the end.
Very informative instructions.

Incredible pattern

This was so easy to follow and produced a truly magical pair of wings for my littles. The instructions lead you through several somewhat intermediate/advanced sewing techniques with ease. The pictures and text are clear. The sizing is perfect for my kids varying ages (one small- 2 year old and one medium- 4 year old)

Wings Bundle

I haven’t had the chance to make these yet but I’ve used Twig and Tale patterns before, so I know the instructions and the finished items will be great

Fly away!

I made a pair of dragon wings for my husband’s grandson on his fifth birthday - unfortunately, I don’t have pictures of him wearing them, but he was very happy. I broke a needle or two in the process of making them and would choose a different fabric - I used a denim which was already heavy and then a quite rigid reinforcement - but they are very much appreciated. The instructions were flawless as usual.

Great pattern!

Pattern is written well with clear instructions. Some steps took a little extra finesse and a lot of ironing, but overall these wings turned out better than I expected!

Very structured

While these came out well structured, there are some pointers that are missing that I feel would benefit the sewer. Listing what kind of sew in stabilizer would be great (like the pattern did for the iron on stabilizer). Instructing to backstitch multiple times at the beginning and end at end raw edges of the front wings and where the straps were sewn in. And definitely stress that it’s near impossible to right side them out. I definitely broke into a sweat. The wings tore at the front wing openings and would not have, had I been directed to heavily reinforce. They did come turn out very nicely and made a nice costume for Trash the Dragon for a 21 Pilots concert, after I did some hand stitching repairs from turning them right side out.
