Don't get overwhelmed - the final product is worth it!

My daughter wanted to be an elve for Halloween, so the Monarch wings really came in handy. The included coloring sheet is a very nice touch, giving the child the possibility to design their own wings.
When I read the tutorial for the first time I was quite overwhelmed. But once I started and just followed the tutorial step by step, it was easier in the end than initially feard. Though it takes some time: Having three small children I only sewed in the evening for about 2 hours each time and needed around 4 evenings to finish the wings.
But I am really happy with the result - as is my daughter. Thank you for this beautiful pattern!

Another beautiful pattern

As always, the instructions were detailed and easy to follow. The wings are gorgeous and so beautifully finished and are being thoroughly enjoyed by the little one who received them. I’ll be making more when I recover from the trauma of turning them out :)

incredible pattern, easy to follow steps

fantastic pattern, very detailed. useful hints and tips. I really liked the information about monarch butterflies too - I was learning as I made. I opted to use an upcycled wool blanket, and plain cotton for mine. I didn't include the white spots around the edges of the wings - due to spots on the cotton.

Magical project

A lovely, thoughtfully designed pattern, with tons of guidance for the sewer who's new to this kind of project (me!). These have the potential to be a powerful scrapbuster, though my set is in new fabric with some HTV for the metallic dots. My two-year-old adores her wings! She can even put them on by herself (and she does).

So cute!

I made these wings for my daughter's for Easter. Great pattern. I highly recommend pre reading and using the videos to clear up any confusion. I could always find the answer to my questions once I slowed down and reread the pattern. Some parts can be a little tedious, since I was making two sets, but I think it was worth it in the end.

Precious achievement and beautiful art

I’ve wanted to make wings for myself for a while and it’s brought me so much joy to sew these and watch them come to life. The projector file is excellent, the instructions very clear and illustrated step by step with colour photos. They are an achievable project because the instructions are so well written. Thanks T+T for a fantastic pattern.

Such fun.

I'm on my third set of Monarch wings already, and have even adapted the pattern to make my own version of the dragon wings. Before I started I had lots of questions and the chat group on Facebook was so helpful - even down to where to source the right Interfacing (you have to ask for it at Spotlight because they keep it behind the counter) I've done some quilting and applique in the past so none of the techniques were too unfamiliar but the clear instructions made it straight forward. I bought a 250m reel of thread for the first set and that wasn't quite enough to finish them so make sure you have plenty of thread. They didn't take me nearly as long as I thought they might. Having already adapted the pattern once I can see endless possibilities.

Comes out Beautiful

It takes forever but it’s definitely worth it. Pattern is very clear. I didn’t need to watch the videos to do any of this. It came out amazing and everyone is amazed by it. Make sure you actually read the instructions because it makes it very easy to do and know how to cut everything
