I've had this pattern since it was published, and have loved it since. It's one of the few vests I love.

    Excellent vest pattern

I bought this pattern back in August and have been waiting on my husband choosing which material he wanted. He finally choose a burgundy corduroy and I needed to lengthen it by two inches as he is very long in the body. The instructions were excellent and the vest was so easy to sew. He is very happy with the vest and I thoroughly enjoyed sewing it. The side pockets sit beautifully and you cannot see the pocket lining. All in all an excellent pattern

    Great for chilly days

I made the Trailblazer with the Nestledown add on to use while carrying my youngest one in a sling. It was my absolute favourite make of last year, I used it so much! And this year I'm using the Trailblazer as it is, perfect for them chilly days when you just need a little extra on top.

    Thumbs up!

This has been a great pattern to work with. My hubby is a little hard to fit through the shoulders but adjusting this to suit our needs has been easy! We also both love the baby wearing add on for those colder months

Loved this pattern, my husband wanted a tweed Gillet and after seeing the price in a shop I suggested I make him one. The pattern was perfect, the instructions very clear and easy to follow. The tip on lining up the zip with the collar seam was brilliant and really helped. I always struggle with zips but got this spot on first time.
My husband loves it and has had some very complimentary comments when wearing it. Now considering making myself the womens version.

15/5 Stars, Highly Recommend, will make (TONS) more!!!

I used this pattern with the fisherman's add-on to make my son a paleontology vest for his school's career day. I only had a few days to make it and did just that - even while battling the stomach virus given to me by said son (Lol!). The instructions are extremely well-written, easy to follow, and the layout makes it easy to follow along (even when you're ill lol). Typically, I struggle with e-reading and following video tutorials; but, I didn't with these.

I had so much FUN making this! My son LOVED trying his vest on at various points in the process! He now rarely takes his vest off - I'm considerably lucky to even be able to WASH it.

I love the flexibility in T&T patterns where style or "extras" are concerned (i.e. pockets, necklines, etc). I also love the suggested ways to "up-cycle" current items for use in T&T patterns.

How many times did I use the word "love?" Repetition is bad for college papers, great for T&T reviews!!

I've since purchased the adult pattern and fisherman's add-on for myself. I can't wait to make more of these!!

    Perfect!

The instructions were so easy to follow I made the fisherman’s vest for my grandsons first birthday. I used a pair of camo hunting pants from the thrift store. This will be a yearly tradition.

Loved this pattern! Easy to follow. On my second one, it’s the fisherman’s add on:)

    Great pattern!

I really love this pattern! I am a beginner sewist and this pattern and instructions have enabled me to make a really professional looking vest. All the pattern pieces line up perfectly (a bit of a rarity in my limited experience) and there instructions are very clear and detailed. The tips for inserting the zip are spot on, enabling me to get it just right (and it was my first one). My OH is delighted with his vest. I plan to make more for him and get the womens pattern too. How nice it was to feel happy and proud rather than frustrated at the end of a make. Thank you.

    Fun and Cozy!

I loved making this Trailblazer vest, great instructions and pictures made this pattern very easy to follow. I used a re-purposed sleeping bag and it is so warm and cozy, I plan to use this vest a LOT for outdoor hikes and chores around my little farm. I got some scraps of corduroy from my mom to use on the shoulders and the windflap and love the contrast. It fits great even over multiple layers. I spent a lot of time lining up the zipper so the collar would match on both sides - I should have done the same to match the quilting on the front! Don't even care, I love it so much. The one thing I did add was a loop inside the back at the neck seam, so I can hang it on a hook by the door, ready to grab on any adventure!
