Trailblazer windbreaker

I made this Trailblazer pattern as an ultralight windbreaker for sports. I left out the handwarmer pockets since I won't be needing them in this vest. Instead I drafted two internal pockets with elastic rims to hold my phone safe and keeping the headphone wires inside the vest. I used softshell fabric for lining the collar and for the yoke. I cut out top of the front piece to get the soft side of softshell fabric lining both the back and front of the yoke. I hemmed both hem and armholes with matching lycra strips. I wrote a longer review on sewingpattern.review.com

Women’s trail blazer

Love this pattern. Instructions were easy to follow. Even able to do an inside pocket following the link. My pocket was different to the instructions. I made mine bigger and a bit lower. This has been something I haven’t been to achieve on another jacket.

Excellent Draftsmanship

This is one of the most finely drafted patterns I've sewn. In addition - the instruction video iss not only well done but creative and delightfully uplifting in the best way possible. Kudos.

Wonderful pattern

Such a quick sew. I was a little worried about how hard it might be to put together but it was much easier and quicker than I thought. I just love the finished vest and can’t wait to test it out this winter!

Amazing pattern

I made a quilted version of this Trailblazer Vest. I have to say it is one of my favourite patterns I’ve ever made. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. My zip went in like a dream. I interlined it with thermal fabric and have worn it every day since I made it. I put in hidden lining pockets using the online tutorial which have proved so useful. Also using the tips for altering the fit means I have managed to get a gilet that fits really well. I intend to get the children’s pattern next and have a go at making a reversible version.

Easy pattern for a great result!

The instructions were easy to follow, and the sizing is spot on. Can’t believe how polished my vest looks, it was easy to get a beautiful satisfying garment. I’ll be making many more, it’s such a handy layering piece for Melbourne Australia weather
