Trailblazer vest

I made this vest in waxed cotton for my partner. I used a flannel lining with cotton quilt batting and it came out great! Detailed and straightforward instructions make this very approachable for a novice like me.

I chose to use the outer shell fabric to line the storm flap and corduroy for the collar.

Great pattern

I enjoyed the pattern, I did have to print it twice — the first printing was skewed.

My first Trailblazer

I love how this came together, the fit is perfect and T&T were very responsive when I had questions on this and the coat. I am now tempted to do a coat. I did a muslin, which was worth it as I didn't read the instructions and ended up getting in a muddle trying to turn it around. My advice, always read the instructions! They are very clear and the little video snippets are very helpful. I was expecting a full video tutorial and was initially dissapointed but I think the little snippets make sense.
I made size F, no adjustments and made from an italian wool that was recovered from a coat I had previously made. And thank you for the projector pattern, it's very clear and a bonus as I don't like all that cutting and sticking!
Love this and next on my list is the culottes!

Trailblazer Vest - Child

This is a great pattern, I used it to make hunting vest for six kids. I used sizes from 12 month to 14 and they all came out with great fit. The instructions are some of the best well written I have come across. One of the best features I liked and learned was the extension in the side pockets.

Perfect!

I like that there are so many options and sizing adaptations. Easy to follow directions.

Trail blazer vest a winner

I have made 2 vests now, both from soft-shell fabric. One I made unlined so I added sleeve bindings which turned out well. The second I lined. The instructions were very easy to follow. My zips were a breeze and look fabulous, matching beautifully following the instructions.

Probably not a totally new beginner sew but it came together very well. A great pattern.

Super pattern

A super pattern which makes up into a beautiful gilet. The pockets were tricky the first time I made it but that’s got easier. First time I’ve put in a zip and the instructions were fab. I’m a bit pernickity so I took time to do my fabric matching! I had to make the collar in two parts to get the fronts to look pretty but that’s because of my choice of fabric. I’m a fairly experienced sewer so found the pattern straightforward. Certainly recommend it.

Love it!

I love this pattern, I don't make clothes but my son wanted a Ryder vest from PAW patrol. Found this pattern and thought maybe I can do it. Finished last night! The instructions where so easy and really well explained. Thank you!

Just fablous

I made this for my grandson, he doesn't like the texture of nylon jackets or thick sleeves. So a zip up vest was the answer, and this pattern delivered. Great tutorial and the comments like, 'sit back have a look, and pat yourself on the back you have done it!' were very encouraging and made me smile. It was such a hit I am about to make him another. The dip at the back is perfect looks very fashionable, I wont hesitate to make more.

Great pattern

Very clear instructions. The skill level of ‘adventurous beginner’ was probably a little too hard for me but I managed to get through and was really impressed with the finished product. They wear them daily and every time they do, I get compliments.
