Great instructions, easy to follow. Versatile top.

OMG! I’ve just finished sewing this top and I am so pleased. The fit is perfect – a little loose and not figure hugging. I love that there are options – different types of sleeves and hems.
All my life, I have been doing simple sewing, mainly mending tears, raising hems and various simple straight sewing. I have been wanting to sew my own clothes but I felt that at my age, I just didn’t have the patience to sit in a drafting class or learn the various techniques of drafting. Twig + Tale has changed everything for me. The pattern is given so I only had to choose the correct size by following the detailed instructions. After that, all I had to do was to read and follow the detailed instructions on how to sew the pieces together (written, photographic and video). It’s like having your own private sewing instructor with you as you sew. Among other things, I learnt how to cut and sew the bias, and, most importantly, how to sew on the sleeves (something I was previously fearful to try on my own).
I am so excited! I will buy more cloth to sew more Scenic Tops. After that, I will definitely buy and sew the other blouse patterns as I see that there are more techniques for me to learn.

Lovely woven tee

I’ve made the Scenic Top with the cap sleeve. Instructions are clear and I love the shape of the shirt, it’s flattering on. Lovely alternative to a knit tee.

Perfect fit

I love the fit of the scenic, just enough ease, but not to much. Quick sew with great result

Quick and comfortable

Scenic was my first T&T pattern and was a very pleasant introduction indeed. The absence of any fastening or closure makes this an excellent pull-on top, my favourite kind, plus the many options mean that I can customise sleeves and hemlines as I please. The fit is comfortable, just my aesthetic. I'm considering extending this to dress length, as I like the top version so much.
My only concern while sewing this was that the sleeves are set in after the side seams are sewn, and that made me nervous as an advanced beginner, but they turned out fine, whew!

Lovely top

I love the simplicity of this top, with its comfortable fit and dress up-or-down vibe. The directions are clear with excellent pictures showing each step plus lots of tips if you're new to sewing. This is deliciously quick and easy to sew. My apologies for the wrinkles, I live off grid and didn't want to turn on the generator just to iron; the seams are easy to finger press. This is an extra special top because it's made from scraps from my mom's stash. In the picture, it looks like the shoulder seam is low but it's not. After cutting everything out I noticed there was a stamp on the fabric right there on the front shoulder, so I stitched on a matching patch to cover it. A linen one is next, pieced together from a skirt that I no longer wear. Thank you T&T for this wonderful pattern!

perfect fit

As this was my first garment from Twig and Tale, I decided to do a mock up using an old sheet before making the top out of good fabric. I am an experienced sewer, and I followed the guidelines carefully about which size to base my pattern on, and whether/how to adjust it. I also appreciated the feature that allowed me just to print off the sizes I wanted. I am stunned at how perfectly the mock up top fits me and am looking forward to making the real deal some time soon!

Perfectly Simple

When a t shirt isn't enough and you want something just as easy to make and wear but with a bit more style then try the Scenic top. Lovely shape, great instructions and perfect for your wovenfabrics.
I made mine with Liberty lawn with flutter sleeves and a curved hem.
