Digital Pattern + Video Class Dragon Wings Sewing Pattern

A great pattern to use. Good instructions and materials required. Definitely admired by our granddaughter and family. Used a hand painted batik material for the appliqué. Backing was recycled from a skirt which was my mums.

My granddaughter (4 yo) is currently obsessed with dragons. So I made a pink and purple (her favorite colors) pair of dragon wings for her dress up box. I have never done a project like this before and I really appreciated all the photos in the instructions and helpful tips. She loves them and I am pretty sure I will be buying some of the other wing patterns as her obsessions change. What a fun way to encourage her imagination.

Very easy to follow pattern, I made a set of wings for my nieces birthday and I anticipate I will be making them in larger sizes as she grows. I added a row of buttons along each side of the spine and put a button hole on the top of the straps so that she can get the most out of this pair before having to size up. Look forward to making again

This pattern was PERFECT for the wings my granddaughters needed for the day we spent at our local Fairy Festival!
It is a very well written, detailed, easy to follow pattern. The clear, step by step instructions... with pictures were great!
My girls got so many compliments on their wings... which had their faces lighting up.

I absolutely LOVE this pattern! Read carefully and don’t rush and the result will be well worth it! I have made five and they all turned out great! I did lengthen the straps and I added two buttons that were used as stoppers to keep the straps from slipping out while wearing and allowing for multiple sized children to wear. The video tutorial was very helpful! They take time to make but following the pattern and using the interfacing suggested and batting makes the project successful! I used cotton batting for quilting for one and a synthetic batting for the others, and both worked well. I’m not a super experienced sewer, but if you can sew a straight line and follow a curve, you can do this! I was very careful in cutting out my pattern pieces which helped too! My “grands” just loved them!

This pattern is lovely. The instructions are really detailed and go through all of the materials and little tricks you need to make wings. It's not an easy make, but the end result is so worth it. My advice is to take your time, use the right interfacing and read the instructions more times than you think you need to. I received this pattern as part of Twig + Tale's Storytellers team

This pattern was so great and easy to follow. I made the small for my one year old, and I just might have to make a matching pair for myself!

I just finished my first pair of dragon wings and I am in love. They are so delightful, and the instructions made them very easy. I used some random stabilizer and fusible fleece I had sitting around and they worked out fine. Looking forward to seeing what the next pair looks like with proper stabilizer and interfacing.

I loved making this project for a friend's 2-year old, and it was very well received.
I followed the pattern instructions exactly except for attaching the strap loops with hand sewing rather than having a line of stitching on the 'good' side. the recommended interfacing (Pellon 809) worked really well. I do wonder if the straps would be long enough for an older child, but for a slim 2 year old they were fine.
