Sew a coat with finishes so beautiful, you'll want to show off the inside too!
The Grove features a unique darted saddle sleeve, and a beautifully-faced pleated lining. A generous hood to keep raindrops and wind off, deep pockets for stashing treasures, and a relaxed comfortable fit that is ready for adventure.
Skill level: Adventurous beginner - Intermediate. The finishes may be elevated, but all of the techniques used are completely achievable.
Skills you will learn: sewing saddle sleeves, facings, bagging out a lining, in-seam pockets. Fitting adjustment resources included.
Video Support: A full course of clear, concise videos accompany this pattern, alongside a comprehensive written and photographed instruction booklet.
Sizing + Supplies
Choose between two size ranges:
Size Range 30-52 Includes youth/tween sizes, bridging from where the children's sizes finish

The Grove (Men/Straight Fit) is currently available to a size 60. We have drafted to a Size 66, but we need additional testers in order to release these last 3 sizes. If you are interested in a paid testing opportunity in Sizes 60-66 for us, please do get in contact at support@twigandtale.com, we would love to hear from you. Thank you!
Make old things new again! Twig & Tale patterns pair wonderfully with recycled fabrics. Look to gently-used blankets, vintage sheets, corduroy or wool trousers for inspiration.

This is a PDF pattern and includes three printing options:
- US Letter/A4 - tiled and designed to print on your home printer
- Copyshop - A0 wide-format file (33.1″ x 46.8″)

I made this one a size big so my little one can grow into it and it looks just as darling at a longer length with rolled cuffs! The lining doesn't sag and it's very easy to move and play in the saddle-sleeves.
I made this In a lightweight softshell as a raincoat and it turned out beautifully. The lining steps keep everything in place and looking professional even with a thinner fabric like unlined softshell.
It's really easy to follow the instruction and fits is on spot !
I made the Grove coat for my spouse using corduroy exterior. He loves the fit and appreciates the hood. I liked the pattern design with the saddle sleeves and construction of the sleeves/cuffs and lining!
