How to Make a Driftwood Maxi Dress
As a young child, I distinctly remember how special and elegant I felt wearing a long dress that my mother sewed for me.  With a simple modification to the skirt of the Driftwood Dress pattern, you can make your little one a maxi dress - perfect for gathering wildflowers, teddy bear tea parties, or just to feel fancy any time.

The only pattern modification necessary for the Driftwood Maxi Dress is to the skirt pattern piece.

Simply look up the size you are making in the following table, then add the dimension listed from the length of the knee-length skirt piece:

Size 18-24m 3 4 5 6 7 8 10
Amount to add (cm) 23.5cm 24.2cm 24.5cm 24.7cm 25.0cm 26.0cm 27.0cm 29.0cm
Amount to add (inches) 9.25" 9.5" 9.6" 9.7" 9.8" 10.2" 10.6" 11.4"

You may wish to add this amount to the skirt pattern piece when you are tracing it, or you could also pin the knee-length pattern piece to your fabric and mark the extra length on your fabric before cutting.

Sew your dress as outlined in the pattern tutorial.
