    Lovely pattern

I'm a fairly confident beginner and found this a really nice blouse to make. The instructions are great, and when I got a bit stuck I emailed Twig and Tale and received a very prompt and helpful reply which sorted out my problem straightaway. I will be making this pattern again in a lighter fabric for a better drape, but I'm still very happy with what I achieved this time. And have bought another Twig and Tale pattern!

    Gorgeous pattern!

I love this pattern! Such a quick and easy sew and a really well-drafted pattern. I’ve made a few now and I especially love how you can get a completely different look based on the fabric you choose. Very versatile

    End result - great!

As a fairly novice sewist, I approached the Driftwood blouse with fear and trepidation! It is the first garment I have ever sewn for myself and so was nervous about whether it would pass muster. I'm pleased to say that the end result is great ... albeit with a few mistakes.

I make life more complicated for myself by using a fairly tricky viscose and then sewing french seams wherever I could to make the wrong side comfy and look finished. I had real trouble setting the sleeves in but, with some wonderful help from the T&T FB community, I was able to get them bang on - focusing on the stitch line rather than the very edge of the fabric made all the difference. The real difficulty came with the binding around the neck and ties. I don't really know what I kept doing wrong but I ended up having to cut the binding twice and had three attempts to sew on. Somehow, I kept ending up with a neckline that was way too big as my gathers slipped. My solution was to baste the gathers in place and then sew the binding on ... oh and checking way more often whether I was doing ok. I think it might be helpful if there was an explicit measurement (maybe there is but I didn't clock it) of how long the ties should be so that I would know if I'd got the neckline right. The final glitch was on the cuffs - I did the hack to have cuffed sleeves with buttons on elastic loops and somehow I've ended up with one loop on the edge of the cuff and one loop where the cuff meets the sleeve - I'm living with this mistake and it's only noticeable to me I'm sure.
Size-wise, I think it came up a little big for me. I made a Size I and probably next time will do an H. I'm a UK size 16.
Overall, I really like the end result despite my rookie errors. I will make another one ... in fact, I've already bought some fabric. Hopefully, my next attempt will be an improvement. Thanks to Erica for all her help along the way.

    One to keep

I recently finished sewing my first Driftwood, and it's so feminine. I love how it turned out, despite the medium-weight linen I used. Next one will be in something much lighter. Thank you T&T for these lovely patterns.

First Twig and Tale pattern I’ve made (more ready to go though). Really easy to follow and the video clips are brilliant.
The blouse is lovely so may options and the fit is perfect. Planning more to make.

    My new favourite top!

I made the short sleeve, v neck option. OMG it was a perfect fit, and went together perfectly. So much so that i cut another top out the very next day!

    Lovely and easy to sew

This has become a favorite pattern of mine. It’s easy to adjust for my height (5’10”) to lengthen the body and sleeves for the perfect fit. The neckline and sleeve options make it so customizable. I’ve made three of these shirts now (in linen and cotton lawn) and am planning the fourth. It’s a great breezy shirt for the hot weather of Arizona.

    Great pattern!

I made a muslin on the Driftwood A-Line dress, with the included FBA instructions. My first try turned out great! I am not sure the dress version is great for my body type, but I plan to make the top for sure. Instructions and pattern were perfect.

    I love this pattern!

After making the driftwood blouse for my little 2 year old granddaughter I decided I had to have one for myself ,so I bought the adult version. Just like the kids version this was a quick and easy sew. I've never been happy with anything I've sewn for myself but I have to say I was pretty pleased with the blouse I made. I also made a beach coverup using the A-Line add on. This is a great pattern and I will be using it lots.
