Step out of a storybook in a coat with undeniable dramatic flair. Full, swirling skirts, a princess-seamed bodice, and optional back lacing that adjusts to your body, accommodating natural fluctuations.

The gently relaxed fit accommodates light layers, perfect for channeling Brontë heroines wandering the misty moors in wool, or living your pastoral cottagecore dreams in linen.

Choose from two oversized hood styles, classic round or pixie, or a stand collar. Or, mix and match with other options from the Bloom Jacket and the Collar Add-On.

Skill level: Intermediate

Fitting adjustment resources: Included

Add-ons: The Full Skirt Lining Add-On can be used to create a luxurious full lining for the Flourish Coat.

Welcome to the coat of dreams.....

This is such a beautiful coat- yes I was initially apprehensive - it has been a long time since I have made a full length lined coat with tailored sleeves - but the pattern is so well explained that it is very straightforward to sew your own beautiful version.
I used a light tweed coat weight fabric and I won't lie it was a weighty beast when I got to the final stages- but just make sure you have a big clear sewing space and all will come together beautifully. I chose to use a 'proper' coat lining which was a good move as the coat eases on over my clothes- if you want a different fabric for the main coat lining I would suggest using a silky sleeve lining.
